University of North Carolina School of the Arts is a high-level conservatory that offers high school, undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate degree programs for talented students seeking performance careers.

Dr. Serkin empowers her students with the necessary skills to thrive in the 21st-century. UNCSA's horn students gain confidence through frequent performances, develop organized practice skills, and learn how to successfully market themselves. Dr. Serkin provides advanced instruction on standard horn solo, orchestral, and technical literature, an efficient approach to horn based on the harmonic series, and her progressive method of transposition. Additionally, she fosters a positive, challenging, fun, and supportive environment within the horn studio.

As part of the UNCSA School of Music, members of the horn studio play active roles in the campus community. Performance opportunities are numerous, and range from chamber music ensembles, horn ensemble, solo recitals, orchestra, wind ensemble, opera, to recording sessions and staged productions.

If you are interested in becoming part of UNCSA’s horn studio, please contact Dr. Serkin. She is always happy to offer a free sample lesson, arrange a campus visit, or to answer any questions you may have about the horn studio or UNCSA.
